Our NOVA 352B, 19" Transport Chair is designed to provide easy, lightweight patient transport. 12" rear wheels provide a more comfortable ride. The comfortable padded upholstery and arm pads are reinforced to prevent stretching or ripping. It features Flip Back/Detachable desk arms which facilitates easy user transport. Hand Brakes provide optimum safety and control. For added safety a seat belt is included and each chair is equipped with locking rear wheels. The lightweight aluminum frame (28lbs.) makes loading easier. The quick-release, fold-down back allows the chair to fit compactly into small areas. It has non-skid footplates with heel loops. All chairs have removable swing-away footrests and a limited lifetime warranty on the frame.

The plastic clips attached to the rear of the sliding seat support do not fit closely, and can easily pop off the rear vertical tubes when the chair is folded up.. When this happens, the chair is locked; it cannot be opened unless you get your hands into the closed seat and snap the clip back on, which is not easy given the limited space. The footrests are tensioned by the plastic cap at the end of the support. On our chair, that cap is somewhat loose, which means that the footrest is loose and will not stay in the upright position, but rather falls down. This means that the person in the chair cannot easily get in and out with the footrest down. And the person pushing the chair should expect black hands; the rubber used in the handgrips leaves your hands stained black. All of this is... Nova makes great products. This is a good choice for anyone looking for a lightweight, easily maneuverable transport chair. Thought I would never use the hand breaks but I use them all the time. They are great for a quick park, (Mom has a tendency to push back from just about anywhere) I also really like them for descending a grade, now I do not have to go down backwards. Just wish that I could have found one with a seat shorter than 16" mom is only 4' 6" and the 16 inches is a long way back for her. I have to put a pillow behind her.
