Product Description

The Heil Sound PL-2T overhead boom uses a system of perfectly balanced internal springs rather than the unsightly, mechanically unstable outboard springs used on booms of much lesser quality. Handles microphones up to 3-1/2 pounds in weight. Remove the top and back plates to thread the mic cable inside the boom with ease. No more cable connectors to remove and replace! Ships with a standard C-clamp mount. The PL-2 accepts industry standard 5/8" threaded mic clips or shockmounts. The chrome threaded stem can be locked into place depending upon the exact type of microphone or shockmount. Counterweight included to accommodate lighter microphones. It has a clamp and easy to fasten to most desks or workspaces and the construction and balance seems to make it adjustable to anything...BUT The clamp appears to be made of cast aluminum and if you crank on the clamp, it will bend. It has been the only thing I do not like about the build but it also could be my desk setup. It is really easy to assemble and is made of quality black coated steel. Springs are built inside of arm so it doesn't look all robotic. It's a clean professional design and is a welcome addition to any studio. Cords are also hidden thanks to nifty little covers that protect and hide them so they are not hazardous when working with little desk space. The arm is solid when moved, it adjusts and stays anywhere you put it. Holding mics up to five pounds without worry. I love it! Good design, good quality, great price! Don't take my word, you will see when they're all gone!
